Summer Fête

The summer fête will be taking place this year at 1pm on Sunday 2nd July. The WSA would like to run a bottle raffle on the day, so on Friday this week the children will be invited to wear non school uniform if they bring in a bottled item to donate to the raffle.

Hellos and Goodbyes

We will be saying a sad goodbye to two members of staff at the start of the summer break.

We already new how great Miss Peters is, and none of the staff are surprised that she is starting her journey to become a teacher at University in the autumn. We will be sad to see her go, but we are excited on her behalf.  We have recruited Mrs Lucy Blick to replace Miss Peters in Rowan Class, and Lucy will be starting with us in September. Lucy is an excellent appointment as she shares our values and ethos, and she is also a qualified teacher!

We are also preparing to say goodbye to Mrs Knibb, who is leaving for a post nearer to home, after 5 years at Wookey. Mrs Knibb has been a wonderful member of the team, and she has had a significant impact on our journey as a school. We will be interviewing for her replacement at the end of this week, and I will keep you informed of our progress. I will say that the children shared some excellent ideas for questions to ask prospective new teachers in our assembly this morning, and we will certainly involve them in the process.

Sports Day 2023

A big thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our sports day afternoon last week. Thank you for supporting the children so enthusiastically. Thank you also to Mrs Tanna for her hard work in organising the event.

We were hampered a little on the day by the number of Glastonbury-related absences we had. Due to the significant number of last-minute messages from parents informing us that their children would be missing school we will be reviewing our plans for INSET days next year. If any changes are made we will inform parents.
