Mendip Explorer's Passport
Looking for something different to do this summer? Want to get outside, explore new places and discover new things? Then look no further. The Mendip Hills AONB Service have launched the Mendip Explorer’s Passport just in time for the summer holidays.
The passport will take you to eight locations across the Mendip Hills. At each location you will complete a mission, this can be anything from taking a photograph of something small and beautiful, to counting how many colours you can see in the rocks (spoiler alert- a lot more than you might think!). You can then complete your passport by finding a rubbing plaque of one of the creatures or plants that make the Mendip Hills so special. The passport contains everything you need to know, including information on car parking and directions.
The passport has been designed for single-sided printing on A4 paper. It can then be cut and assembled as a booklet (you will need some string). An assembly instructions page is included in the passport.
The passport is for anyone that wants to get out and explore, but it is particularly suitable for ages 4–11 years. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to complete the passport this summer, there’s no rush. The passport will still be available after the summer. Once you’ve completed the passport, please contact the Mendip Hills AONB team, we’d love to see your photos, and we will send you a certificate (contact details are included in the passport).
