WOOKEY NEWS Friday 3rd November 2023

It has been a very busy week and there is a lot of information in the news section of the school website. I hope you enjoy reading through it all. Coming up soon are our parent-teacher meetings, for which you should all have received sign-up links on Seesaw. Unbelievably, we’re almost back to December again, so we’ll be letting you know about all the Christmas events coming up soon.

Everything has changed in the Valet household this week with the arrival of Missy! Mrs Valet shared a lovely photo with us for the website. We all send huge congratulations to the whole family.

In Mr Marsh’s absence, I would really welcome additional support with the Walking Bus. With increasing numbers of older children now walking without a family member, we need to ensure there are always two adults on the bus. Teachers have been able to do some additional hours this week, but going forward, if any parents are able to walk one day or one day a week, please get in touch with me via Seesaw.

Next week we will be launching a cycling challenge (using the Wookey Workout equipment) to show support for a huge 540 kilometre cycling event going on in Treak, Cambodia to support our link school there. More information on that to come next week.

There is now a page on the website where you can access the school lunch menus. At the moment, you can view the current menus and the Christmas special. Once we have next term's confirmed, we will upload those too.

Finally, from me....

I want to say a huge thank you to the staff, children and families who have wished us well and offered their support this week. I know all too well how busy everyone is, so when you take the time to write, we really appreciate it. On a personal note, I am enormously grateful to the staff for their incredible support.

There are three Taylor Swift references hidden in the newsletter. The first person to Seesaw message me with all three will win an edible reward!
