Parent Teacher Meetings

Hopefully you all now have appointments for parent teacher meetings next week or have made alternative plans with teachers. The booking link will be closed on Monday. If you are unable to find an available slot, please contact your child's class teacher to find an alternative date. Please note, these are in-person meetings, so disregard the Teams link that comes through on the invitation. If you had hoped to meet online and this now causes problems for you, please contact the class teacher on Seesaw. Apologies for the confusion - hopefully the system has worked well for you otherwise.

Tea and Talk

It was lovely to see you on Thursday afternoon. We hope we were able to solve some Seesaw issues and answer some of your more general questions. We are really looking forward to the next Talk and Tea session on Thursday 23rd November. A special thank you to Karen Butt for the Incredible cake!

Autumn Days

Even though Storm Ciaran didn't come to very much here in Wookey, there are still a lot of leaves and muddy puddles presenting challenges, especially in the car park. Please feel free to pull up a little further from the car park fence to allow your children room to get in and out of the cars without getting wet and dirty. 

Celebrating Bonfire Night

Some classes have been enjoying bonfires in our wild area this week and the rest of the school will have their turn next week. Given the weather, we will be asking children to change into wellies or old shoes for this. I think children mostly have these in school already, but we do have limited spares if you do not have anything suitable.

SEND Information

We will be making changes to our website to improve your access to the information you may need. This will take a few weeks to complete, but look out first for changes to the SEND section. As well as our SEND policies and Local Offer, you will find links to helpful websites and also parent carer learning opportunities  - 'Wise Up Workshops' - offered by NHS Somerset and Somerset Council.

Little Acorns - donations please

Little Acorns are in need of some new toys, books, puzzles, role-play, dress up etc. If you are having a pre-Christmas clear-out and you have anything you would be happy to donate, please talk to or message Jess or Gemma. 

Events Next Week

A reminder that Monday (13^th) is INSET day for children and Friday is our own Treak Trek/children in need day. Friday is non-uniform, so if the children want to come in home clothes, pyjamas or dressed as one of the X-Men, we are fine with that, as long as they can be active outdoors wearing it all! Donations will be taken for the children at Treak Community Centre.

Last week's newsletter quiz winner was Emma Treasure, who spotted 'Back to December, All too Well and Everything has Changed'. This week, a little easier I hope: superhero references. Message me on Seesaw when you spot all three and I'll let the winner know straight away.
