Friday 15th March 2024

I had a great time at the W.S.A. discos last week, and it was lovely to see so many children enjoying themselves at both the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 events. I must say a big thank you to the W.S.A. members for giving up their time to organise and run the discos. I am pleased to announce that £214 was raised in total, which will be spent directly on enhancing the experiences that we give the children in school.

We had some lovely feedback from parents this week following our latest parent/teacher consultations. If you were unable to attend, the next opportunity to speak to the teachers is after school on Monday 19th, when we are holding our next parent drop in session.

The children have been enjoying their new playground resources this week. We are still waiting for a couple of deliveries before our big relaunch, but the basketball hoop and 'quiet area' are already proving to be a big success.

I know that the May half-term seems a long way away as we haven't even had Easter break yet, but I wanted to let you know about the 'Steve Backshall Live' events that Longleat are running from 25th May to 2nd June.  For an extra £1 on top of the day ticket charge, you can book places at the daily events that he will be hosting in person. Click here for more information. Early booking is advised on the Longleat website, due to expected high demand.

The Big Plastic Count 2024 is upon us! For those interested in finding out about their impact on the environment and learning about their environmental footprint, please read the following letter to find out how you can take part. It is really easy and is a good way of getting involved with your child's learning.

Any questions please contact Sarah on 07779 145441

Orchard Vets in Glastonbury are having an open day on Saturday 16th March. This will be a lovely opportunity for children who are interested in a career in the veterinary sector or those with pets who are interested in what happens at the vets.

Along with a dog show there will be open access to the practice with equipment demonstrations, careers information, a scavenger trail and a 'have a go at bandaging' station. Our Vets and Nurses will also be on hand to answer any career or pet related questions.

A message regarding pupil absences

This is a polite reminder that, if your child is unwell and will not be attending school, please contact the school office to confirm this. A message sent to a class teacher via Seesaw will not be seen straight away, as the teachers will be busy preparing for the school day.

If you wish to apply for term time leave for your child, please complete a term time leave request form, a copy of which can be found here.
