Friday 17th May 2024

Although there is still one more week before half-term, this week's newsletter includes lots of information about opportunities available to children and families during the break.

Chestnut and Willow parents will already know that next week is going to be dominated somewhat by rehearsals for the children's production. As a large proportion of the school will be meeting at the Village Hall next week, there will be no walking bus on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is with great pleasure that we announce Mr. James Anderton's appointment as a teacher of Willow Class alongside Miss Furner, commencing this September. We are thrilled to offer James the chance to resume his teaching career following his tenure as a teaching assistant at Wookey. Many of you are familiar with Mr. Anderton's diverse talents, yet it may come as a surprise to some that he is also a certified and seasoned primary school teacher!

In the coming days, we will also complete the recruitment of a permanent staff member to assist Jess and Gemma at Little Acorns. At this juncture, it is fitting to express our gratitude to Mrs. Wood and Miss Pronenko for their outstanding contributions to the preschool this year.

A Reminder About School Lunches

Please be aware that, if no meals are booked for your child by lunchtime on a Wednesday, then we will be expecting them to be sent in with packed lunches for the following week.

Meals can now be booked up until the end of the summer term.  All booked lunches will need to be paid for in advance if your child is not in receipt of Free School Meals or Universal Free School Meals.

We are participating in 'Wells in Bloom' once more this year and are eager to keep the shield we secured in 2023. If you have a passion for gardening and can dedicate some time to assist the children at school, kindly approach their class teacher. Your support would undoubtedly be greatly appreciated.
