We are active, respectful, engaged and independent.

Friday 18th November

INSET

Please note that the school is closed on Friday 25th November for an INSET day. All term dates and INSET days are available on our website.

Christmas Performances

Parents in Rowan and Oak Classes have received links via Seesaw to book tickets for our Christmas performances. Please note that we are limiting tickets to two per child in the first instance. Any spare tickets will be released one week before the performances.

World Cup Action

We will be giving the children the chance to watch England's first game in the World Cup Finals on Monday afternoon. Work will be set for the children as planned and there will be no obligation for them to watch whilst they are working.

Christmas Dates

All Christmas dates have been added to the calendar, but I thought it would be useful if I highlighted them here too.

29th Nov - all children will need to be collected from the Church at 3:20pm

5th Dec - Nativity Performance at 9:30am (parents invited)

6th Dec - Nativity Performance at 2:15pm (parents invited)

9th Dec - Christmas Fayre at 5pm (all welcome)

13th Dec - Christmas Lunch

14th Dec - Christingle at 9am (parents invited)

16th Dec - last day of term, no after school care.

We will also be taking part in the Christmas Tree Festival, which is being organised by St Matthew's Church. More information to follow.

Children in Need

It has been lovely to see the children dressed up for Children in Need 2022 today. Our total raised for the charity currently stands at £104.36. Thank you for your generous donations.

Greenhouse(s) Needed

You may have noticed that we have had some issues with plastic greenhouses over the last couple of years. It turns out that Wookey is a very windy place, so we need to look at purchasing some sturdier greenhouses before the spring, ready for growing season next year.

Before we do this, I thought it might be worth enquiring to see if any of our families might have an existing greenhouse that they are about to replace or no longer need.

Having greenhouses in school allows us to teach a significant part of the science curriculum in a practical and engaging way, and it increases the growing season for the children so that, come the end of the summer term they are able to sample the fruits (or veg) of their labours!

If you think you might be able to help us out, please email the office on school.423@wookeyprimaryschool.co.uk. Thank you!

You will probably be aware already, but the planned 'Quiz and Chips' evening on Friday 25th November has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for the spring, hopefully for a night when there are no big football matches on the television!
