The hard work of the children, and staff, in Willow and Chestnut Classes culminated in a wonderful enterprise fair on Friday 28th June 2019.
Over the past few weeks the children in Chestnut Class have been busy planning and preparing their stalls, and it was great to see them demonstrating the school value of independence in the way that they ran them virtually unsupported throughout the afternoon. We had such a variety of activities, from plants being sold to games with prizes and even a quiz!
Willow Class also took a huge part in the event, from designing and making table cloths and bunting to the delicious lollies (three kinds) and lemonade that they made to be sold during the afternoon.
This event really typifies what Wookey School is all about: children working together on practical, real life learning involving the wider school community in a memorable experience for all.
I am proud of the way the children engaged with the spirit of enterprise, and delighted to inform you that they made over £150 profit by the end of the afternoon.
In typical Wookey fashion, the maths focus this morning in Chestnut Class was counting the money made, and the children will now be involved in deciding what to do with it.
Here are a selection of photos from the days leading up to the event, as well as from the event itself.
A big thank you to everyone involved!
