We held our annual Remembrance Service in the school hall this morning. The service was a bit special as we were commemorating the centenary of the end of The First World War To mark the occasion, a group of our year 6 children presented the findings from a project they had done this term investigating how many of those who died in WW1 in Wookey attended our school when they were children. They also told us about how Wookey School has changed in the last 100 years. The service itself was led as usual by Reverend Paul, and we were lucky to have Harry from Wells Cathedral School with us again to play The Last Post before our two minutes silence. The silence was immaculately observed by all our children, including playgroup, who stayed with us for the whole service.
Finding the link between WW1 and Wookey School helped add extra meaning to the service for all of us. Here are some pictures of the presentation that the Year 6 children produced, and if you click on the 'Respect' picture on our homepage you can watch some videos too.
