I suspect that there are a number of very tired children this morning after we got back to school at 10pm last night from our trip to Bath. We were expecting everyone to fall asleep on the way back but the children had such a good time watching Team Bath beat Manchester Thunder that their excitement levels kept them awake until we returned to Wookey.
We started our journey at 5:30pm with Mrs Davies, Mr Scriven and I plus 12 children in the minibus and it took us about an hour to get to the venue. We had time to visit the merchandise stand and find our seats before the match started at 7:30pm.
I think it is safe to say that we were all blown away by the standards of the elite athletes in both teams, the speed they moved around the court and the accuracy of their passing and shooting. I know the children have taken away some tips for their next match on Monday!
As we would expect, the children behaved fantastically well, and it was great to hear several of them saying they would like to come back and watch another game with their families. Thank you to Mrs Davies for dealing expertly with challenging driving conditions and to Mr Scriven for helping to look after the children. Finally, thank you to the parents for coming out so late to pick up children when we had returned to school!
